Here, I worked on titles called Everywhere and Mindseye. I worked with Unreal Engine 5 using Lua on a multiplayer game, with a focus on implementing gameplay systems, minigames and world/server traversal. These systems are complex and some, including the minigames, are programmed in Lua. I was responsible for all the minigames present in Mindseye.

About me

Hi, my name is Benjamin Gatt. I am a Game Programmer with 5 years of experience in the game industry. I currently work at Hyper Luminal Games.

I graduated with a Masters in Games Development from Abertay University in Dundee and a First Class (Hons.) B.Sc. degree in Multimedia Software Development from the Malta College of Arts, Science and Technology. During my education I worked on a variety of different types of software development including web development, automated quality assurance development, database management as well as game development.

I am very passionate about creating games especially ones with unique game mechanics and concepts. I am also very dedicated to my work and I have been told that I work very well within a team.

During my career and education in Game Development, I have worked with a variety of different systems. During my education I used both Unity (C#) and Unreal Engine (C++). I also did a freelance AR project using Unity. Later I worked with C++ on a custom engine whilst working on Angry Birds POP at Outplay. I also worked with Unreal Engine and Lua on Everywhere and Mindseye at Build a Rocket Boy.

People that have worked with me on projects have described me in a very positive manner. Here are a few of the comments they made about me by my peers.

"friendly, proactive, and proficient in his chosen role"

"vocal during meetings and always contributes to ideas"

"Benjamin was able to overcome every technical challenge we faced in the MProf course, showing mastery of the Unity engine and solid programming skills. He was great to work with and will surely be a valuable asset in every team he will work in." Mauro Lana
