Everywhere - Build A Rocket Boy May 2022-current

​

I am currently working as a Gameplay Scripter on Everywhere at Build a Rocket Boy. Here, I work on implementing player facing features for the multiplayer game as well as robust systems to create a pleasant experience for players. I use Lua scripting and Unreal Engine to do my work.

Angry Birds POP - Outplay Entertainment  Sep 2021-Apr 2022

Previously, I worked as a Junior Engineer on Angry Birds POP at Outplay Entertainment. I worked using C++ on important new systems for the game such as reworking the entire Alert system and recreating the Tower of Fortune mini game. It was a great experience working on such a popular game with an internationally known IP.

About me

Hi, my name is Benjamin Gatt. I am a Game Coder with a Masters in Games Development from Abertay University in Dundee and a First Class (Hons.) B.Sc. degree in Multimedia Software Development from the Malta College of Arts, Science and Technology. During my education I worked on a variety of different types of software development including web development, automated quality assurance development, database management as well as game development.

 

I am very passionate about creating games especially ones with unique game mechanics and concepts. I am also very dedicated to my work and I have been told that I work very well within a team.

During my career and education in Game Development, I have worked with a variety of different systems. During my education I used both Unity (C#) and Unreal Engine (C++). I also did a freelance AR project using Unity. Later I worked with C++ on a custom engine whilst working on Angry Birds POP at Outplay. Currently, I am working with Unreal Engine and Lua on an upcoming game called Everywhere at Build a Rocket Boy.
